Ron Smith

It is with great affection that we remember Ron Smith who sadly died in June 2017

Ron joined Masham Players in 2008 despite coming to watch one of our shows beforehand. He quickly became a mainstay of the group. His first appearance was in 'Bolt Hole' in March 2008. He appeared in nine productions and directed three. He also appeared with several other local amateur groups. He was chairman and secretary for several years as well as always being available to help with set building, lighting and sound. His last credit for Masham Players was as the monosyllabicTony in the classic play 'Abigail's Party' in November 2016. This tested Ron's acting to the limit as he was anything but the grumpy character that he was playing. As ever he threw everything into it and did himself and Masham Players proud. His enthusiasm and smile will be greatly missed by us all.

Above all Ron was just a nice bloke and great friend.

Next Performance
